How do I convert Excel to PDF?

  1. Choose your Excel file (.xlsx).
  2. Choose the orientation (automatic recommended).
  3. Press “Create PDF”, then download it.

A budget, a schedule or a transcript is better sent as a PDF: it looks the same everywhere and cannot be changed by mistake.

Each sheet starts on a new page. Spreadsheets that are too wide switch to landscape automatically and are shrunk to fit the width. Dates, amounts and percentages are written in UK format.

The conversion is done by your browser: your file is never uploaded. For old .xls files, save them in .xlsx format first.

Frequently asked questions

Are formulas recalculated?

The PDF uses the values shown when the file was last saved in Excel.

Are charts included?

Not yet: data, cell colours and borders are included, but not charts.

My spreadsheet is too wide, what can I do?

Leave the “Fit to width” option ticked: it is shrunk to fit on the page.

Is my file uploaded online?

No, everything happens in your browser.
