How do I compress a PDF offline?

  1. With a connection, open this page and compress a first, unimportant file: your browser then keeps the tool in memory.
  2. Turn off the connection whenever you like (airplane mode or Wi-Fi off): the page remains usable.
  3. Choose your PDF, keep the recommended level and press “Compress”.

Offline compression software has to be installed and updated, and it takes up space. TwoDocument works differently: during your visit, your browser saves the page and its processing programs. After that, compression is done by your device, with no need for the internet.

To keep it handy, add TwoDocument to your phone's home screen: in Safari, Share menu then “Add to Home Screen”; in Chrome, ⋮ menu then “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. It then opens like an app. The other tools already opened on this device also work offline.

Offline mode is also proof: a service that sent your files to a server could not work in airplane mode. Only buying a pass or Premium and signing in to an account require the internet. Your results are kept for 7 days in “My files”, on your device.

Do I need to install anything?

Do the day's free documents count offline?

Yes, the counter is kept on your device. A pass or Premium subscription already purchased remains valid offline until its end date.

Does clearing the browser data erase the tool?

Yes: the offline tool and “My files” are erased along with the site data. Simply reopen the page with a connection to get the tool back.
